A SENSORY JOURNEY THROUGH THE BEST ISLAND WINES
A SENSORY JOURNEY THROUGH THE BEST ISLAND WINES
ABOUT US
Tenerife is hosting the first international Island Wines Summit, organized by Vocento Gastronomía, with the Cabildo de Tenerife and Tenerife Despierta Emociones serving as institutional sponsors and in collaboration with Vinos de Tenerife.
A professional gathering to highlight the uniqueness of the islands’ wines on the world stage, featuring some of the leading international experts, who will share the distinctive characteristics of these wines from different regions.
The islands have preserved a unique genetic heritage, with varieties that have been forgotten on the mainland. A biodiversity that resists the global homogenization of wine.
The islands are home to extreme geology. Cultivated on impossible slopes, ocean-facing terraces, or volcanic craters, the island vineyards defy gravity and climate.
The marine environment is not just a landscape: it imbues the grapes with salinity, freshness, and depth. Each bottle conveys the landscape, identity, and spirit of the island where it was born.
TENERIFE AND ITS WINES
Since the 16th century, Tenerife’s wines have travelled the world bearing the island’s name on their bottles. The pre-phylloxera vines, grown in volcanic soils and pruned by hand generation after generation, preserve a legacy that linked the island with the most important ports of Europe and America. Their commitment to the terroir and the excellence of today’s winemakers make Tenerife one of the great international benchmarks for contemporary wine.
